Frequently asked questions and answers by Coach KB
1. I have never run before. Should I do your program? Yes! That is exactly what we do and we have helped hundreds of people run their first 5k. Many continue to run and expand their distances. Others take the habit formation and motivation they developed during our sessions, and do different types of workouts.
2. Where do we workout? For group runs, we run outside on the streets or at parks on Long Island. For individual 1:1 programs, we will run outside, on your treadmill or Coach KB’s treadmill. For virtual runners, you run where you live- outside or on a treadmill at your own home or gym.
3. What should I wear to work out? As part of this program, we will talk about proper clothing, fit and sneakers – essential information to make you feel good when you exercise.
4. I am nervous about doing my first 5k. Do you help with that? I remember my first 5k years ago. I was so nervous, I lost my car key right before the race and ran around looking for it. I also told my family not to come because I was so stressed. Because of my own personal experiences and as a running coach who has run over 250 races, I can help you navigate your first race so you can make room in your head to enjoy the moment and being proud of what you have accomplished.
5. Do I get one workout a week? No. We offer 3 workouts a week to help keep you on track and build fitness and confidence in your running journey. We also offer 1:1 zoom meetings for additional support during your program to get specific advice about your experience, hold you accountable, keep you motivated, and talk about what issues/concerns you have.
6. What else is included in the program? A running app TrainHard helps track your walk/runs and makes you accountable to yourself as well as gives Coach KB essential info about your workouts. Additional information on clothing, stretching, motivation and habit formation, injury prevention and how to care for your mind and body as you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Lastly, essential support that you need for this exciting new fitness journey.
