About Kiersten - mom, runner, and certified running coach

Welcome!  My name is Kiersten Bartolotta and I am a mom, a runner, a Road Runners of America certified running coach and owner of Walk To Run Fitness.  I started my business with the 12-week walk/run program because I have learned over the years that a consistent exercise plan with challenges and goals is essential to make a real commitment to fitness.

My life has been crazy for the past ten years with raising three children and I have found it difficult to stay in shape.   I never stuck with any exercise program and I was always too busy or too tired to work out.  My running program started by accident when one day during a walk I wanted to get home fast to get some chores done.  I decided to run home.  I began from that day to increase my running distance every week whenever I went for a walk.  I finally made it to three miles and started to run races.  I haven't stopped since.

With three young kids now, running has become my way of managing my life.  It keeps me fit and healthy mentally and physically.   A running program in conjunction with a good diet has been essential for my weight-lose and weight management.  I plan long-term and short-term goals and set new challenges to keep me motivated.

Running has also allowed me to make a commitment to helping my community.  I have completed over 200 races for charitable causes from 5k's to the Long Island Marathon.  Two causes close to my heart that I fundraise for are the Lustgarten Foundation's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer and the Avon Breast Cancer 39 miles - 2 Day Walk.  My grandfather died from the deadly pancreatic cancer which motivated me to raise money for that cause.

Through my running, I will continue to donate funds to good causes and people in need
.
I became a certified running coach through the national program, Road Runners of America to provide coaching for the runner in group or individual settings.  I believe this program will help so many people who like me could not find the motivation to exercise on a regular basis.  It will start you on your way to life-long fitness, weight management, higher self- confidence, new friends and community involvement.  Get Out of Your Comfort Zone.  Come face this challenge and start your journey to lifelong fitness.
